The practice at 1600 East Florida Avenue in central Hemet operates as a primary-care clinic with three defined specialty focuses: family medicine, geriatric medicine, and women's health. The doctor-led model means continuity with a single practitioner rather than a rotating group, and the breadth of focus signals willingness to handle complex medical histories across age groups and gender-specific care needs in one office rather than fragmenting patient charts across separate specialists. This setup suits established Hemet residents seeking a consistent primary-care relationship — families building long-term medical history with one doctor, older patients managing multiple chronic conditions, and women wanting gynecologic care integrated with general medical oversight rather than referred elsewhere. The centralized-Florida-Avenue location puts it on an existing medical-services corridor for residents already in that part of town. For patients switching primary-care doctors or new to the area, the combination of family-medicine and geriatric focus signals a practice comfortable with older populations and their complex medication profiles rather than a clinic oriented toward younger, healthier patients. Insurance acceptance and hospital affiliations would require direct contact to confirm.

Get ListedApex Healthcare Medical Center occupies a suite on East Florida Avenue in Hemet, operating as a multi-specialty primary-care facility rather than a single-doctor practice or urgent-care clinic.
Apex Healthcare Medical Center occupies a suite on East Florida Avenue in Hemet, operating as a multi-specialty primary-care facility rather than a single-doctor practice or urgent-care clinic. The center handles the routine medical needs that keep residents anchored to a consistent provider — preventive visits, chronic disease management, minor acute care — across a patient population spanning families, working adults, and seniors. The scope typically includes family medicine and internal medicine rather than surgical or highly specialized fields. For Hemet residents looking to establish care with a primary-care team rather than cycling through walk-in urgent care, Apex serves that continuity role. Patients managing hypertension, diabetes, or routine health maintenance benefit from the standing-appointment pattern; those with acute injuries or late-night illness would still route to a true urgent-care center. Insurance acceptance and hospital affiliation vary by plan and provider; a call ahead clarifies coverage before the first visit.
Never, EVER, use this Dr. Office. As a US Veteran I have had to deal with doctors outside of the VA. Never have I ever dealt with incompetence at a level as high as this office. Office staff will sign in place of the doctor to get you testing or treatment that is not needed thereby delaying your car...
Great staff and Dr's !!! I was in the office and in 2 weeks my surgery was done. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Dr. Crater was the best. He straightforward and professional. Told me what I needed and done and done.
Where to start! Get call to schedule and then told I NEED to get X-Rays and referral, when the referral was sent to them and that was why they called me. Great start. I take off work, get X-Rays and bring them to office and then have to wait another week for appointment, since X-Rays were not ready!...
What Locals Know
Hemet residents often travel to Temecula or Murrieta for specialty care, making a full medical center with multiple practitioners locally valuable for routine and chronic care without the 20-minute commute.
The Hemet VA Outpatient Clinic on East Latham Avenue is a Veterans Affairs facility serving eligible military veterans across the region with primary care, specialty referrals, and preventive health services. As part of the VA system, it operates under federal coverage rather than commercial insurance networks, meaning patients pay no out-of-pocket costs for in-system care regardless of income or employment status. Veterans with service-connected disabilities, retirees, and those meeting VA eligibility criteria use this clinic as their primary care home or as a referral point for specialists unavailable locally. For non-veterans or those seeking care outside the VA system, commercial clinics and hospitals elsewhere in Hemet and the surrounding valley are the alternative. The clinic fills a specific population slot — the one where eligibility and federal benefit structure determine access rather than insurance card or ability to pay.
