Buri Optometric Center occupies a spot on East Florida Avenue in central Hemet, operating as a full-scope optometric practice handling routine vision exams, contact lens fitting, and common treatments like dry eye management. The clinic maintains an in-house frame selection and dispensary rather than requiring patients to source eyewear separately — a convenience detail that matters most during contact lens fittings or when a prescription changes mid-week and an adjustment can't wait for mail delivery. The patient base ranges from school-age kids getting first exams to seniors managing presbyopia and age-related conditions, plus the working-age crowd fitting eye care into lunch breaks or after-work slots. For patients with VSP, EyeMed, or other common vision plans, Buri accepts those directly rather than asking for out-of-pocket upfront payment. A local optometrist's office suits those looking for continuity with the same doctor rather than rotating providers, and for contact lens wearers who need fitting adjustments or prescription changes — the kind of hands-on work that a chain's high-turnover model doesn't always prioritize as thoroughly.
Barratt L. Phillips, M.D. operates a full-scope optometry practice on West Stetson Avenue in central Hemet, handling routine eye exams, contact lens fitting, dry eye care, and pediatric vision work in-house while managing referrals for surgical cases like cataract and LASIK procedures. The practice carries eyewear frames on-site and maintains an in-house lab for same-day or quick-turnaround lens work, cutting the typical mail-back timeline of larger retail chains. The setup suits established patients building continuity with one provider, parents bringing children for baseline exams and updates, and residents managing common regional dry-eye conditions that benefit from consistent follow-up care rather than one-off visits. For straightforward glasses-only exams where price is the primary lever, a chain optical center or warehouse membership club remains competitive. For patients with contact lens complications, pediatric concerns, or chronic eye conditions requiring hands-on adjustments and patient history, the direct-practice model Barratt Phillips offers makes a difference in pacing and attention.

Inland Eye Specialists on West Stetson Avenue in Hemet operates as a full-scope optometry and eye care practice handling routine refractions, contact lens fitting, dry eye diagnostics, and surgical referrals for conditions like cataracts and refractive procedures. The practice accepts common vision plans including VSP and EyeMed, reducing out-of-pocket friction for insured patients. Frame selection and finishing happen in-house rather than through mail-order or third-party labs, shortening turnaround for readers and adjustments. The setup suits patients who prefer a single-provider continuity model over chain-store cycling — the same optometrist seeing the same eyes over time rather than rotating staff and a retail floor. Parents bringing children in for their first exams, presbyopic patients managing progressive lenses, and anyone needing detailed dry eye management or surgical pre-screening find the medical-practice structure more aligned with those needs than big-box vision centers. For frame fashion or same-hour glasses, warehouse chains still win on speed and selection; for a practitioner who tracks your history and builds a treatment plan across multiple visits, Inland Eye Specialists fills that relationship-based role.
It's horrible the way my mom was treated after 23 years of great service at inland eye specialist. They always went the extra mile before! Not anymore! She was lied to when she had one of her last appointments about who changed her prescription. Clearly they thought because she was older she wouldn'...
Professional, courteous staff, but waiting period with appointment time set are too lengthy.
I am not pleased with the staff at this Hemet office. They are not trained properly, and are not very knowledgeable. And definitely lack training in customer service
