Dr. Eric Chin operates an independent optometry practice on Medical Center Drive in Murrieta, handling the standard scope of routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, and common conditions like dry eye alongside frame selection and on-site dispensing. The practice accepts major vision plans including VSP and EyeMed, making it accessible for insured patients without the logistics of a chain referral system or off-site lab turnaround. The setup suits patients already using the Medical Center Drive commercial area for other healthcare appointments, families with children needing pediatric exams, and established patients who prefer continuity with an independent provider over rotating staff at a big-box retailer. For surgical needs—cataract referrals, LASIK consultations, or low-vision rehabilitation—the practice handles those coordination calls directly rather than funneling through a corporate referral network. The main trade-off against Costco or LensCrafters is selection; independent practices typically carry fewer frame inventory but often provide more detailed fitting time for complex prescriptions or contact lens cases.
Ryan R. Evans, OD operates a private optometry practice on California Oaks Road in Murrieta, handling routine eye exams, contact lens fitting, and basic eyewear selection rather than the high-volume chain model. The scope covers standard preventive care—refraction, glaucoma screening, dry eye management—and surgical co-management for patients referred to specialists for cataract or LASIK procedures. Frame inventory and lens options are managed in-office, with dispensing handled directly rather than routed through a separate location. Patients choosing this practice over the mall optometry chains or big-box retailers typically value the continuity of seeing the same provider across multiple visits and a smaller-clinic pace over appointment-slot efficiency. The practice accepts standard vision plans including VSP and EyeMed, making it accessible for insured patients without the upfront insurance-negotiation friction of a standalone retail frame shop. For straightforward annual exams and contact lens refits, this is the professional alternative to chain-store optometry; for complex specialty care or extensive low-vision work, referrals out are the expected pathway.

Get ListedSam's Club Optical Center operates inside the Sam's Club warehouse on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, offering routine eye exams and eyewear in the membership-based retail format.
Sam's Club Optical Center operates inside the Sam's Club warehouse on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, offering routine eye exams and eyewear in the membership-based retail format. The scope covers standard optometry work — vision testing, contact lens fitting, glasses and contacts dispensing — without the standalone storefront overhead. Frame selection runs to the stock the warehouse carries, and an in-house lab handles most orders within typical timelines. Members already shopping at Sam's can bundle an eye exam and new glasses into the same trip, making it a natural fit for families managing multiple errands at once. The setup appeals to vision-plan holders accustomed to VSP and similar networks, since warehouse optometry typically accepts common coverage. For someone wanting a dedicated eye-care space, a broader frame boutique, or specialized services like dry eye treatment or low-vision aids, the independent or chain optical shops elsewhere in Murrieta serve that differently. For a straightforward exam and frames during a warehouse visit, this fills the practical slot without requiring a separate appointment location.
Knowledgeable staff. Great selection. Quick turn around for pick up.
They are very friendly and had great patience fitting my autistic son with glasses, highly recommend.
I ordered contact lenses and they are lost and they can't tell me why or where they are or when they will be in. I do not recommend the optical center at Murrieta Sam's Club!!!!!
What Locals Know
Murrieta residents often combine errands across Sam's Club's footprint — optical centers in membership warehouses pull patients from surrounding neighborhoods. Dry eye and contact lens issues are common in the Inland Empire's heat and low humidity, making in-warehouse optical availability convenient for plan members.
