The Laundry Basket

We are the owners of The Laundry Basket, a veteran-owned, self-service laundromat in Hemet, California, serving the community since February 2018. When we took over, we inherited a struggling business with a 2.5-star average rating and a troubled reputation. Since then, we've replaced every washer and dryer with newer, made-in-USA equipment, added full air conditioning, and kept an attendant on-site at all times, from day one. The property is monitored by 12 security cameras, and the loitering and safety issues that once kept neighbors away are gone. In 2020, the Hemet Police Department recognized us for the transformation, and in 2021 they presented us with a plaque thanking us for our support of their officers. Every year since 2018, we've thanked the department with Christmas gifts and catered meals. Today, The Laundry Basket is a reliable, clean, and safe self-service coin and token laundromat. Our large-capacity washers and dryers handle everything from everyday loads to bedding and comforters, and we maintain 99% of our machines working every single day, unlike many other laundromats. Our attendants are cleaning floors, machines, and surfaces throughout the day, not just at closing. We keep things simple: cash and tokens only, no card readers, no apps, no hidden fees. Need detergent, softener, or a laundry bag? Our on-site soap vending machine has you covered, including extra-large bags. Our snack and drink vending machine is there for anyone waiting on a load — proceeds help sponsor three children in impoverished countries, a commitment we've kept quietly for the past ten years. We've also built relationships with local legislators and stay active in our community. For added convenience, tokens also work at our sister location, The Laundry Hamper, in San Jacinto. The Laundry Basket isn't just a place to wash clothes — it's a small business that turned a struggling corner of Hemet into a clean, reliable, community-minded fixture, one load at a time.
