The Blend Smoothies operates on Benton Road in Winchester as a self-serve frozen yogurt spot with a toppings bar where customers build their own bowl or cup. The format is straightforward — choose a base flavor, add toppings by weight, pay at the register — making it the kind of casual drop-in rather than a sit-down destination where extended groups linger over conversation. Summer evenings draw the heaviest foot traffic, particularly families with kids finishing dinner nearby or teens meeting up for a quick treat. The visit typically fits into a broader errand or weekend outing rather than a planned trip: parents grabbing something cold after running Winchester Road errands, groups stopping on the way home from a movie or activity, or a spontaneous weeknight option when someone wants dessert without leaving town. Winter months see quieter flow, though the self-serve model and rapid turnover mean there's no real off-season. The toppings bar appeals to kids who want to customize and families managing dietary preferences without negotiating with staff about what can be added or held.

Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard sits on Washington Avenue in Murrieta, operating in the casual frozen-treat category where the visit fits into an evening out or weekend errand rather than a dedicated destination trip. The model centers on self-serve cups and cones — customers choose their base (Italian ice, frozen custard, or a combination), then load from a toppings bar stocked with sprinkles, candies, sauces, and mix-ins. Flavor rotation keeps the menu fresh across seasons, with seasonal offerings alongside year-round standards. The clientele clusters around families with kids stopping by after dinner, teenagers meeting up on weekend nights, and parents looking for a quick treat run during summer months when foot traffic stays steady into the evening. Winter quiets down, as is typical for frozen shops in Southern California. The self-serve format means less wait time than a full-counter operation and gives kids some autonomy in building their own bowl. It's the kind of spot where a group can spend twenty minutes or grab and go in five, depending on the occasion.

Cold Stone Creamery on Benton Road operates as a served-style frozen yogurt shop where staff blend custom combinations on a frozen stone rather than a self-serve model — the format draws families with kids, groups of teens, and casual weeknight visitors looking for a treat that feels more interactive than a standard ice cream scoop. Flavor rotation keeps the menu from going stale, and the toppings bar lets each order land differently depending on what's being added and blended in. The visit typically fits into a weekend evening or post-dinner outing rather than a dedicated destination run, especially during warmer months when the shop sees steadier foot traffic. Families with younger kids appreciate the novelty of watching their cup get worked on the stone; groups of high school students use it as a casual hangout spot. Winter months tend quieter, but the format works year-round for anyone wanting frozen yogurt that reads more like a small event than a grab-and-go commodity.
This location is amazing. I come here all the time and every one of the people that works here are super friendly and amazing. With that being said, I visited this store tonight, 7/27, and was one of the people behind the last person that left a Google review for this day. They left a terrible revie...
I can only account for my experience and my first time use at this location was through DoorDash. I was passing through. I’m a truck driver and I order cold Stone creamery every now and then it’s never brought to me with any real toppings in the ice cream. it doesn’t sometimes taste well Even the wa...
Our go to location -but DON'T order ahead for takeout or delivery. They consistently give us just the base ice cream with no mix-ins even if it is one of their creations you order. So very disappointing. Go in and order it you want to make sure you get what you actually want.
What Locals Know
Winchester summers push families toward cold treats year-round; self-serve yogurt shops here compete directly with ice cream chains for the same afternoon and evening traffic. Parking and walk-in convenience matter more than in Wine Country corridors.
