Applicants will be considered based on their knowledge, skills or abilities related to project needs. Specifically, applicants should have: AI & Digital Literacy: High degree of comfort and proficiency in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for content generation and scriptwriting. Technical Aptitude: Experience with, or a proactive aptitude for, mastering Generative Media Tools (e.g., HeyGen, Google Vids) and other instructional technology software. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal statutes and translate them into engaging, clear, and professional digital instructional materials. Make an impact while you learn. The Semester of Service Program offers students a volunteer project-based opportunity to support Federal missions, gaining hands-on experience & valuable career-ready skills. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited trade school, technical or vocational institute, junior college, college, university, or other accredited educational institution, & participation must be with the permission of the institution at which the student is enrolled.
  • This vacancy announcement will be open from May 13, 2026 to May 19, 2026 or when 25 applications have been received. The vacancy will close on whichever day the first of these conditions are met. If the application limit is reached on the same day the announcement opened, the open and close date will be the same. Candidates are encouraged to read the entire announcement before submitting their application packages. The volunteer will serve as a Legal Curriculum & Content Developer to assist in the modernization of training for federal law enforcement personnel. All research, scriptwriting, and content development will be conducted under the direct supervision and technical guidance of experienced attorney instructors within the Legal Instruction Unit to ensure legal accuracy and strict adherence to Department policy. Key responsibilities include: • Utilizing Generative AI platforms to assist in professional script development and content storyboarding for Criminal Law and Law Enforcement Use of Force training modules. • Designing high-fidelity eLearning content to create realistic legal and security scenarios. • Assisting in the research and drafting of instructional content including International Law and its application to global security operations. • The project is designed to deliver usable, modernized training assets within a single academic term.
